Break is coming to a close... so sad, so short.

I am hoping, in my spare time, to get out and take a few more shots over this next term. I'm also really wanting to go hiking with some friends which I had hoped to do over break but I kind of dropped the ball on that. I just got an old Nikon film camera along with two telephoto lenses and a macro lens for it so I'm anxious to get out and use it all. I'm also working on several 3d projects though I am struggling in areas of it. I have found that, from what others tell me and from what I can tell of myself, that I'm a pretty good modeler but I feel that I lack the texturing skills to show a lot of my stuff off. Our school, I find, really lacks in that department. I've only got one more texturing class to take, not including ZBrush, and I'm taking it this next term so we'll see if I make any progress.

I find it harder and harder to keep up with both of these hobbies of mine. I've gone out on the weekends on my bike with my camera equipment and scouted areas to shoot and setup shots and I still love doing all that but I find it harder and harder to pull myself away from my modeling projects to do it. I've still got two folders of shots I need to edit and upload at some point. In the end, I think I just need to find some kind of happy balance but that'll come in time I guess. Modeling just takes up a lot since I know I need to keep up with it to stay good at it. Kirk Hammett, guitarist for Metallica talks about how he plays his guitar 364 days a year and loves doing it. I don't know if I could necessarily build 3d models 364 days a year but its real nice knowing you're doing something you love doing and I do so love doing what I do.

Speaking of Metallica, they just got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame if you didn't know. I've been a fan of theirs for a long time and its nice to see them get recognized for all they've done. I've decided I'm going to buy myself a guitar as a graduation present when I finish school which should be in one more year.

I've moved again, I'm out in Beaverton now. Its nice and my place is huge, quite a bit bigger than my last in fact. I miss living downtown though. I'm downtown enough that I should still be living there but its just too expensive.

That's all for now!

...I may be as woefully wrong as Humphrey Belcher, who believed the time was ripe for a cheese cauldron.

Awesome! ^_^

I'm real sorry, I was supposed to get back to you with more details on the design! You'd caught me at a real busy time.

But it looks like you did a pretty amazing job with it anyway, i really dig it.

Would it be possible for me to get a big sized render of just the porta hut alone? (no b/g) so i can play around with having as my desktop background.

I really like how it's not completely realistic, and has a styled element to the render.

Yeah, just let me know what size and what sort of angles you want and I can render you out a bunch. I'm real glad you like it again, and no worries, school and work teaches me all about keeping busy.

Sweet - well just a 3-4 angle turnaround is cool )front, 3/4, side, back) - just really wanted it on a blank background

Noice one man :)
